Meet "Wedding Girl"

So my moms's good friend Kathy, introduced us to this idea of "Wedding Girl"- we haven't quite named her yet...but for all you Moss Haven-ers- imagine Flat Stanley, but the bride version.

So anywhoo- Wedding Girl goes with you to all your appointments, showers, and parties.... then she will be given back to my mom and passed to Katy when she gets married, back to my mom, and then passed on to the grandbabies we may have (much later) in the future!

Its been pretty funny and awkward at times b/c my mom will ask me to pose with my vendors and a wire wedding girl bust that doesnt even have a head- Some think its creative, others think I am a 5 year old girl who needs to grow up already! haha

So its been fun... below you can see wedding girl at our flower appointment- shout out to the wonderful Jenkins family (well Katie is now a Norris) and at a few of our cake tastings!

Katy's Dallas-Style 21st Bday Party

So Miss Katy Evans turned 21 while she was in Spain which really meant she could start legally drinking in January when she moved over there b/c the drinking age is 18...

All that to say, on probably one of your most fun birthdays, she wasn't with all of her best friends, so we decided to throw her a very "TID" (This Is Dallas) ... birthday shin dig! We had dinner at Monica's and she ended up on stage with the mariachi band. Then we hit up Ghost Bar at the W Hotel downtown which is always a great people watching experience.

The whole evening was a BLAST! A picture is worth a thousand words and we sure do have some funny stories from this evening that I will leave a mystery... :)

PS Recognize my dress? Its the gorgeous silk one Logan bought me for my birthday- what a GREAT excuse to wear it and be fancy :)

Katie's Wedding Shower!

My bestie Katie had her Mother/ Daughter wedding shower on Saturday. It was SO much fun having all my best friends in town and hanging out together... Lots of people love Katie- Check out all the hostesses below!!! (My mom had to leave early)

I got inspired by the "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" flower petal game and did it the glass half full way since we already know that John Paul loves her. Each petal/ letter had a question on the back that we asked John Paul about Katie. Katie had to answer it and if she got it RIGHT (as in, the same answer as JP's), I gave her the petal to put on her board. It was a fun way to break up the opening of gifts and make her blush! haha

So embarassing, but true... This was my shower gift from Katie to thank me for hosting and I started crying b/c it has my NEW LAST NAME on it... I know its dorky, but it was a very BIG, surreal deal... I am so proud of my new paper :)

Flower Girls Video #2

Well, we thought of another way to ask the other 2 flower girls and it didn't involve my terrible singing... in fact we didn't have to memorize any lines :)

Enjoy!

Adventures in Registering

So registering either works for couples or causes fights... Enjoyable or Explosive... Luckily, in our case it was enjoyable... Then again, it was merely Crate and Barrel and not the MOTHER SHIP that is BED BATH AND BEYOND... dear me, that place is overwhelming.

So anywhoo- We got there, Logan had the scanner gun and was happy with his new gadget and we stared at each other for about the first 5 minutes, not knowing where to start... Once we started though, it was really fun... Like an entire afternoon of shopping without spending ANY MONEY!!! Now, THAT is "in the budget." haha

Logan later told me he was afraid I was going to become that crazy bridezilla girl who gets really agitated and controlling and doesn't let her man have an opinion, but I pleasantly surprised him by compromising on BIG IMPORTANT THINGS in life, like the measuring cups...

So overall, a very positive experience... Now my tune could very well change after BB&B this weekend so stay tuned...

How boring- I just blogged about registering... oh well, I am growing up and things that excite me are very different than they used to be... haha!

Love to all my people!!!

Logan was NOT gun shy... scanner gun, that is... wow I am cheesey!

No we didnt register for a couch, but we sure did relax on them for a bit and pretend like we were considering it ;)

I mean things like this are crazy to me- How many shapes and sizes of dishes can one make??? How do you choose? We decided to be REAL crazy and go the cream route instead of white... There were only 2 options in cream, so it helped narrow it down a bit easier ;) TOO MANY OPTIONS!!!

Remember how I said we "relaxed" on the couches we were "thinking" about registering for... haha ;)

Yay!!! We finished in about 2 hours!!! (And I am sure people were annoyed that we were taking pictures in Crate & Barrel, but you only live once, right??)

Save the Dates

The Front...

The inside folded out into a timeline of our love story...

The back!!!

_________________________________

Well the Save the Dates went out yesterday!!! Man, I guess I am officially getting married or something! haha

What a project!!! I got my good friend Lori at Fossil to design them and I put in my 2 cents! We had personalized stamps designed w/ my return address in her cute font and the same "starburst" she used inside the Save the Dates... (funny that I keep wanting to shorten that to STD and then I realize, I probably shouldnt do that)

Anywhoo, WE LOVE DIY projects so these STD's (haha) are packed with our little labor of love. HOWEVER, we noticed the ink took quite some time to dry, so dont be suprised if you get one in the mail that looks a tad bit smeared...by the end of it, I could have cared LESS!!! haha we tried :)

PS We had JARHEAD playing all night... wouldnt have been my personal pick, but hey- he was helping, so I will pick my battles... :) Romantic Comedy (Think Father of the Bride) while addressing your WEDDING SAVE THE DATES... or the most INTENSE GORY movie out there... you choose!

Look at my cute fiance unwinding after a zillion stamps! (Well our guest list isnt THAT big, but you get the point... haha!)

www.mywedding.com/loganlovesabby

It has our love story (his version, her version), some pictures, our KICK BUTT wedding party, the events, and more!

Just a preface- Logan did his wedding party section, not me... you will understand when you see the pictures he picked out for each of them :)

We are Odd...

So last night we were a little delirious and wanted to creatively ask our ring bearer and one of our flower girls to be in our wedding.

Harper LOVES Taylor Swift, so we thought it would be appropriate :)

Please watch the below, laugh at how well we sing, how our lyrics don't rhyme, or the fact that I am in my pj's haha... I didnt really dress up for the occasion, oh well! It was so fun...

No pressure in asking the frenchie flower girls now- Kaylin and Sophia... I am sure we will cook up something clever :) Stay tuned...
